Besides the continuation of regular activities, three programmes were held this month. They are as follows

1) The Silver Jubilee Celebration of RSV School cum RSV Ex-students’ Reunion went on successfully on 26th February. A school that had begun its humble journey with 13 students in a single-room mud house, in a remote barren land, more than 25 years back, now has become a community school with hundreds of students from the neighboring areas, with facilities of hostel, students’ coaching and bio-farming.

More than 150 students attended the Meet and received a dozen best wishes messages from the ex-students working in various parts of the country. Prof. Sushanta Duttagupta, Former Vice-Chancellor of Visva-Bharati, was the chief guest of the Meet. Mr. Stefan Kastner, President, Freundeskreis Ghosaldanga und Bishnubati e.V in Germany; Prof. Kumkum Bhattacharya and Prof. Ranjit Kr. Bhattacharya, Santiniketan; Kirsty Milward, Suchana school; Fr. D. Soloman, Dumka; and Sushil Ghosh  from Bolpur  were some of the special guests who were present in the programme. Mahua Ghara, Sarbani Roy and Rahi Soren (professor) of Jadavpur University, who since one year, have been working on the Herbarium project with our high school students, and their Herbarium presentation in the event, along with science and art exhibition, made a great impact among the students and the public. The villagers of Ghosaldanga and Bishnubati also actively took part in the event.

2) 34 youth from Ghosaldanga and Bishnubati went for a cycle tour to Deol park, in a forest which is about 50 kilometers away from Ghosaldanga village.

3) Junior students from Bishnubati took part in a drawing competition at Bidyadharpur village and won prizes. Senior students presented a Rabindra Sangit song in their Bandhnabagram Gandhi Vidyapit School.
