After the introduction of the paddy harvester machine 3-4 years ago in our area the daily laborers’ job has reduced. These harvesters are more economic and time saving than manual harvesting. With the use of machine and the delayed arrival of monsoon the villagers got longer time to cultivate vegetables and attend social occasions.  

The employees of the organization however had been very busy this month with their regular responsibilities. After the regularization of classes after Covid the teachers and students have been running against the time to complete their school syllabus and unit evaluations.     

The regular activities of the organization such as, primary and high school coaching, medical care unit, football coaching of Kick for Help, art and music classes went on regularly in all the centres of Ghosaldanga, Bishnubati, RSV and other villages.  Besides these activities some major extra-curricular activities are mentioned below.

Bishnubati

 A Santali drama team from Purulia district of West Bengal staged their play “Tirla chetan’ at Bishnubati. The play was part of the theatre workshop conducted by Debkolpa Das from Kolkata in the village last year with the village women.

The senior students of Bishnubati also staged the play ‘Nahak Hul’ on the occasion of the Hul celebration at Dhansara village. The play was scripted by Rupchand Hansda and directed by Bimal Baski. The play was highly appreciated by the audience.

A health check-up was conducted at Bishnubati by Dr. Monika Golembiewski and her team. The team also visited the families of serious patients and the patients who have recently recovered from their serious illness.

A village cleaning drive was conducted in the village. The teachers and students went around the village and encouraged the villagers to clean plastics and cleared weeds near the community used places like tube well, worship places.  

Ghosaldanga

The campus cleaning drive also was held at Ghosaldanga by the teachers and students.

The Account office of the Trust has been set-up at Prantik campus. Earlier the office was in Santiniketan. Lakhiram Tudu and Anil Hembrom have been deputed to maintain the accounts and keep the records of the organization.     

RSV School

Two Master degree students Sri Debasis Guin and Haradhon Soren from the Department of Rural Management spent one month at RSV school for their Internship course.

Hostel Coaching und Students Bio Farm:

Besides the coaching classes the students took care of their bio-garden regularly. This year the production of the mango was very poor. However, the vegetables and the growth of the fish were satisfactory.

Kick for Help

Football coaching courses continued regularly for both boys and girls.

Youth Empowerment

Four girls from Ghosaldanga and Bishnubati have taken 3 months Retail Management Training under the Deen Dayal Upadhaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana at Chinchura, Hooghly.

Mother and Child Care

Patients had been treated at the Ghosaldanga dispensary regularly. Two serious patients Milani Baski (F-39) and Bajun Hansda (M-48) both from Bishnubati were in the Hope hospital at Kolkata for treatment.
