Thoughts on the subject of the fish-bird symbol
Birds and fishes are universal symbols. Ramakrishna calls the birds hovering in the skies and the fishes swimming in the sea symbols of the liberated soul (mukta).
In Christianity the fish is a symbol of Christ, the bird a symbol of the Holy Spirit.
Bird and fish encompass three elements - for the bird, air and earth, for the fish, water.
Both our association and our partner association in Ghosaldanga and Bishnubati use this symbol as our/their emblem.
